Travelodge Stoney Cross Lyndhurst

Linda on reception was exceptionally helpful and sorted out my problem of stairs by changing my room for a downstairs one. It would have 5 but the room was cold and heater was not man enough to do the job.

After a long , very difficult day we found this place by accident. From the outside it seemed quite scruffy and rundown...BUT...The lady on the desk was polite, helpful, and efficient..the room was spacious and very clean, plenty of trafic outside but noise was minimal...beds were first class and whilst in recent years we have stayed in lots of places, I would put this Travelodge pretty high on my list....And I intent to use it again on my reguar trips to the west country...And Travelodge didn`t ask me for a review (unusually) I was so impressed I looked it up and completed this review because I thought this place deserved it....MEL

I stayed for two nights to visit the new forest and surrounding areas and I have to say I’m very impressed with the value for money from this hotel! Superrr comfy bed, large clean room and a bath with perfectly heated water. The receptionist Linda is absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable on the surrounding areas she made us feel very welcome. Overall this hotel I excellent for what you pay. The only downside is being on the main road it can be a little noisy but thanks to the double layered windows this is usually not super noticeable.

Location is not great if you are coming and going. Slip road is very short on the exit next to a busy road.This is a old school decor Travelodge but clean and tidy mine the less.Still at £38 plus the dog feels it's great value for money

Lovely size room for the duration of our stay as we were out every day eventhough the building is next to the dual carriageway but no issues when windows closed. Always topped up with tea, coffee etc and fresh towels. Very quiet on a night, which was nice also next to the new forest which was a bonus.

Lovely staff, great bed and superb price!!! The place was clean and had the basic amenities. I’ve knocked off a star for the terrible shower pressure, the fact there was only hand wash provided in the shower and that I had to ask for a hairdryer which was one of those small pathetic travel ones that looks like it was made in the 80s and took me 25mins to dry my normally max 10 min hair. My friend also needed to use an iron which they brought to the room with a very worn ironing board. Had adequate parking and located next to a petrol station. Our room was on the main road and with the extra sound protector in place it wasn’t that loud. I wear ear plugs as my partner snores, but I do honestly think I could sleep fine as a light sleeper. Would be annoying if you needed to open a window in the summer I’d assume. Also wasn’t a fan that I couldn’t control the heating. The room started way too hot on the first night, so we opened the window whilst we were out and it got too cold and then we couldn’t heat it up. At 4am myself and a friend from another room both woke up hot so can only assume the heating came on at this time, but couldn’t say for sure. I may sound quite negative but I’d still definitely stay here again! I’d just bring my own hairdryer and shampoo conditioner. For the price of the room I’d say it was pretty good!

Average Travelodge location. Old style although appears to have been updated and renovated recently. Room adequate although shower was not very powerful and inconsistent temperature. Room was however spacious. Road noise acceptable.

I had an incident earlier where I ran out of battery on the car. Went to the reception and asked the member of staff if any chance they had a long extension lead..? Bless Harry, he managed to find one and I was able to charge it enough to find the nearest EV charger. I didn’t had cash to give to him for his time and help but I walked 10 seconds to the petrol station to get him some beers for helping me. So 5* for “HARRY” for his kind, friendly, helpful service and going that extra mile for me!!!!!! ~ you are such a legend!!!!!!!
